Welcome to the Writers Workshop!

A research university is a writing university. The Writers Workshop contributes to the intellectual and creative activities of the University of Illinois by providing support for all writers in the campus community—undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctorates, faculty, and staff—via writing consultations, writing groups and writing retreats, and workshops and presentations throughout the academic year. By doing so, the Writers Workshop advances the mission of the University to create an inclusive learning environment that fosters students’ abilities to achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals.

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all Writers Workshop consultations are currently offered online (click here to learn more about our online consultations). Our presentations and writing productivity groups are also being hosted online; please view our calendar to learn more about upcoming events or learn more about requesting workshops and class presentations.

To request disability-related accommodations for our services, please contact Dr. Carolyn Wisniewski at wow@illinois.edu or call 217-333-8796.
