Welcome to the Writers Workshop!

A research university is a writing university. The Writers Workshop contributes to the intellectual and creative activities of the University of Illinois by providing support for all writers in the campus community—undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctorates, faculty, and staff—via writing consultations, writing groups and writing retreats, and workshops and presentations throughout the academic year. By doing so, the Writers Workshop advances the mission of the University to create an inclusive learning environment that fosters students’ abilities to achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals.

To request disability-related accommodations for our services, please contact Dr. Carolyn Wisniewski at wow@illinois.edu or call 217-333-8796.

Congratulations to our Writers Workshop graduates; we're so proud of you! The Writers Workshop will close for the semester on May 14. But don't worry, we'll be back later this summer. We re-open Monday, June 15. Online appointments begin on June 15. Check out our calendar for summer events and other resources!
